New cooking plan intended to have slimming consequence on pupil
In a push to slim the waist of Magnolia State students, school districts across the state could soon be tossing their pullet in switch for a special kind of oven.
At a seminar this July, food service nutrition administrators from across the state will come to Jackson to learn about the combi-oven — a piece of equipment that employment steaming, circulated hot air or a combination of the two to offer a well again choice to deep frying nutrient.
Purchasing the equipment would cost an estimated $20,000 for a single oven or about $35,000 for a double kiln, but dividends could pay out in improved Mississippi students.
